Mindset is the largest area in the 7 secrets and for good reason.

Your frame of mind will determine every outcome you create, positively and negatively

If only it were as easy as flicking a switch!

The Secret of Mindset Mastery

There are 9 sub-sections within mindset. Today I want to cover just 3 of them:

  1. All or Nothing Thinking
  2. Managing Expectations
  3. Change Behaviours

I have created a video covering each one below, with subtitles so no sound is needed. I’ve also included the text if you’d prefer to read.

First up is “All or Nothing Thinking“.

In the context of food, this is when we feel we’re either on or off a diet.

We feel we have to be good 100% of the time or we have failed and quit the diet.

The reality is none of us can maintain a strict diet 100% of the time.

It’s not realistic and puts us under lots of pressure.

Instead, you can see it more as a scale.
From good to not so good.

Some days you will be more towards good.
Others you will be more towards not so good.

And that’s ok. That’s life.
That’s beers with your buddys,
Meals with your mates
and a few treats here and there.

What you want to aim for is good 80-90% of the time.

How do you achieve it?
It varies from person to person,
but for most it’s being good in the week
and allowing some treats at the weekend.

If you aim to follow my meal plan
for 6 days out of 7, that’s about right.

Next up is “managing expectations”

When our expectations are not met,
we feel disappointed.

This can lead to low motivation levels,
and stop us exercising or eating well.

Instead, it’s good to fully understand
upfront what we can expect.

For example, the meal plan I have provided
will help you eat more healthily and
help reduce your body fat.

But you should be aware that it’s not a
magical solution.

To look like a cover model there is more
to it than just eating well.

Your expectations are also relevant to you.

For example, do you think it’s realistic
to expect 5 years of poor eating and no
exercise to be reversed in 12 weeks?

It can take a long time to get the results
you see on Instagram and in Men’s health.

Those people have devoted their lives to it.
They’ve spent years training and eating well.

They’ve made massive sacrifices, too.

12 weeks is very little time to see
life changing results for most people.

The third point is about “Change behaviours”

If you change your behaviours,
the results take care of themselves.

Often we focus on the result.
But we can’t directly affect the result.

All we can change is our behaviours.
Our behaviours lead to the results we have.

A powerful approach is to concentrate on
improving our behaviours.

Do that and the result take care of themselves.

Behaviours like what we eat and drink each day.
When we exercise and how we exercise.

You can directly control those things
and they will produce results when done right.

Hopefully that gives you some food for thought.
