“Water is life…”

Every morning Jenny gets up, picks up her phone before she’s even opened her eyes and checks through her Facebook feed.

10 minutes later she’s up and drinking a coffee. The first of 5 that day. She’ll also have a couple of teas in there, too, so as not to have too much caffeine.

A surprising truth…

Did you know that 60% of the human body is water!? So water is pretty important for us. Health authorities recommend adults drink around 2 litres a day, yet two thirds of us don’t manage this.

Why does this matter?

Water helps energise muscle cells, control calorie intake and flush out the toxins in your body…without it you are basically a cesspool on legs.

If you really want to dial up your body transformation results then you should aim to drink 80%+ of your liquid intake as water, and to actually hit that 2 litres a day. Minimum. definitely more if you are exercising or want to lose fat.

Ideally this means cutting out or back on alcohol, sugary juices and soft-drinks (even if they are diet).. which is obviously tough – but even small improvements can make a big difference.

Drink more, eat less…

It helps keep you full. Often you can mistake hunger for thirst, because your body knows that it can get water from foods too. So it wants water, whether that comes from food or not it doesn’t mind.

Thinking Power

Your brain is around 75% water. Without water it will not function properly. Think hangover when you’re really dehydrated.

Drinking water to improve your concentration, focus and performance is critical.

ACTION STEPS

  • Drink a pint of water first thing when you get up – you’ve been 8 hours+ without any
