There is no end

“Easy come, easy go…”

“I’ve only got 8 more weeks of this hell!” Jane declared, in a vulnerable voice. “I just can’t wait for it all to be over and to get back to my normal life…”

If a regime feels that hard, what do you think the chances are that it’s sustainable? I’ll let you in on a secret. There is more chance of winning the lottery.

You might be able to achieve a body transformation in those 8 weeks, but when “normal life” returns “normal results” return also.

Surely there is another way…? I believe there is.

What if Jane’s “normal life” was one which got results. Maybe over a slightly longer period of time, but they were sustainable because it was normal life.

Here’s the thing…

Most body transformation programmes that I’ve seen are hard to stick to. They feel like a chore. You have to put your life on hold for X weeks while you’re “on” the diet/training plan, etc.

But the underlying lifestyle has not been altered, so when you inevitably return back to normal, all of those quick wins (and in the grand scheme of things 8-12 weeks is just a tiny amount of time) go very quickly too.

What about a different approach?

What do you think would happen if instead of changing your lifestyle up so dramatically, you just made small changes. Small changes to get the best results from the least amount of effort. But it was still normal, just an improved, upgraded version of normal.

If you think that there is an end to the body transformation programme, unfortunately that’s not the case. We’re trying to build lifestyle changes that are permanent, not just a quick fix. Going on a diet for 8 weeks and then returning to your normal life doesn’t work long term. We are looking for changes that are sustainable. Small, consistent change will produce the results.

Small changes are easy to do, so we need to break the task down into smaller chunks. Piece by piece we will deliver great changes if we just concentrate on the one small change that we need to make. Change the small behaviours that you do every day and you will change the results, dramatically.
